Building Your Sound Relationship House: Part 2- Sharing Fondness and Admiration

The next step in building your own sound relationship house is nurturing fondness and admiration.  Sometimes in relationships, we can let the stresses of life get in the way and it can be easy to focus on the negative things about our partner instead of enjoying who they are like we do at the beginning of the relationship.  This happens to a point in every relationship over time, and it takes work to keep it going strong.

The good news, is that it is easy to fan the flames and bring back the system of fondness and admiration because most relationships have a history of it!  Remember when you first met your partner and everything about them was intriguing and exciting?  This is what I’m talking about!  It’s all about finding the characteristics that made you feel lucky to be with your partner and excited to know more about him/her.  With special exercises in couple’s therapy and the help of a trained therapist, fondness and admiration can be brought back or made stronger and you can feel that spark again!

If you and your partner would like to learn more about enhancing your relationship through scientifically based Gottman’s couples therapy.  Or you would like to build a stronger sound relationship house and further nurture your fondness and admiration, call Life Enhancement Counseling Services today at 407-443-8862 to set up an appointment with an experienced counselor.
