I believe it takes your whole life to achieve your destiny. I feel there are things we are supposed to accomplish in each season of life. And, we “achieve” our destiny only when we finish the race of life and have nothing left to learn, experience or contribute. 

Depending on how long I will live, I am roughly halfway through my life journey. I have learned and experienced more than I ever could have imagined. And yet, I know there is so much more left for me to see, do and be in this life.

When I look back over my life, I can see how therapy has positively evolved my mind, emotions, copings skills and relationships. And by “therapy,” I mean all that it contains. In graduate school we all had to receive psychotherapy as part of our training. During that season I personally learned much about coping skills, communication skills, relationship issues, assertiveness skills and cognitive-behavioral therapy. My learning curve at that time catapulted me into a new season of life, where I began to live a more purposeful, holistic, balanced and healthy life. 

With that learning curve I realized the importance of having a trained, experienced and supportive psychotherapist on hand whenever I needed her. And I still hold this value dear today. From weathering tragedy to exploring possibilities for my future to relationship challenges–having a seasoned psychotherapist at the ready has been invaluable for me.
